There’s something about saying yes — even when your heart feels a little nervous — that changes everything.
I’ve shared before that I’m a nervous flyer, and this trip was one of those say yes anyway moments. Just the girls and me — off to New York City for a weekend I’ll never forget. 💕
I packed a few of my Whispa favorites — cozy travel layers, soft neutrals, and the kind of pieces that make airports and city strolls feel a little prettier. The girls were giddy with excitement, bubblegum suitcases rolling behind them, playlists queued up, ready for adventure.
It wasn’t just a trip — it felt like a memory in the making. A chance to pause the everyday and just be together.
There’s a different kind of joy that happens when it’s just the girls — no schedules, no rushing — just us soaking in the city, one cozy corner at a time.
We wanted a mix of magic and comfort, whimsy and nostalgia. And New York City delivered.
This was a dream come true for my girls — imagine a soft, plush wonderland with sweet treats and cozy corners. It was as whimsical as it sounds, full of pastel charm and the cutest photo moments. We spent longer than planned here, sipping cocoa and giggling over which Jellycat matched each of our personalities.
You can’t go to New York with little girls and skip this stop. The energy, the joy, the tiny details — it all feels like stepping into their imagination. The girls picked out matching outfits for their dolls, and we left with full hearts (and full shopping bags).
If you’re going to do milkshakes, do these milkshakes. Black Tap is iconic — colorful, over-the-top, and fun in the best way. Between the giant shakes and the music playing, it was one of those meals that felt like pure joy.
A true “pinch me” moment. Afternoon tea at The Plaza felt straight out of a movie — dainty treats, fancy tea cups, and laughter echoing off marble floors. It was peaceful and magical, the perfect way to slow down in a city that’s always rushing.
Two classics in one day. The LEGO store and FAO Schwarz both brought out the kid in all of us — larger-than-life toys, colorful displays, and that sweet nostalgia that never fades. Watching the girls’ faces light up reminded me of my own childhood trips to toy stores.
Frozen hot chocolate. Enough said. This stop was pure New York whimsy — twinkly lights, cozy booths, and desserts big enough to share (though we didn’t always want to).
We laughed the entire time — the lights, the chaos, the music, the energy. It’s one of those New York things you have to do at least once, and it’s even more fun when you’re seeing it through your kids’ eyes.
We ended our trip with a carriage ride through Central Park. The girls snuggled under the blanket, and I just sat there taking it all in — the trees, the city skyline, and the sound of their laughter. It felt like a scene you’d want to bottle up and keep forever.
This NYC girls trip reminded me how important it is to say yes — to fun, to adventure, to moments that stretch you out of your comfort zone.
Flying still makes my heart race, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat for weekends like this — where we laughed until we cried, held hands walking through busy streets, and built memories I know they’ll carry with them.
Because sometimes, the best stories come from simply saying yes. ✈️💖
