Are you ready for a dreamy family vacation in Nantucket, Massachusetts? Look no further, I am sharing our Nantucket travel guide! If you’ve been following our travel adventures, you know how much we love this place! Coming here every summer is a cherished tradition from my childhood, and this year was extra special as my parents and my brother’s family joined us. All the cousins got to be together, and it was such cherished time together enjoying New England summer.
When packing for Nantucket I found lots of our favorites on Amazon. Check out our Nantucket outfits and essentials on my Nantucket list and Storefront!
Nantucket in the summertime is beyond dreamy and picturesque. The cool ocean breeze provides an escape from the Texas heat, and the scenery is breathtaking. From classic New England homes adorned with white picket fences, climbing rose bushes, and vibrant hydrangeas to charming fishing boats dotting the harbor and iconic lighthouses, every moment in Nantucket feels like magic!
As a family, we adore the family-friendly atmosphere on the island. There’s something here for everyone – from casual eateries perfect for quick breakfasts or picnic sandwiches to upscale restaurants ideal for date nights or special celebrations. Along the streets, you’ll find cute coffee shops, ice cream, and sweets shops, art galleries, and more to explore.
This year, we decided to rent Nantucket vacation homes. Having my parents and brother’s family here made the trip even more memorable, especially seeing the cousins bonding and creating lasting memories together.
This place is an absolute must-visit! We couldn’t resist the mouthwatering Turkey sandwich, I dream of it all year! Soft bread, mayo, stuffing, turkey breast, and cranberry sauce – like Thanksgiving in every bite. It’s so good that we might have visited more than once during our stay!
Sconset, or our “tiny town,” as the kids call it, feels like its own little world within Nantucket. Exploring the area on bikes is a favorite family activity. There’s an ice cream shop, a small market, family tennis courts, and even fun events like bingo and movie nights to enjoy.
Hop on bikes and explore the island’s beauty. Don’t forget to take family photos at the lighthouse – the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories. As you pedal along, you’ll be captivated by the breathtaking flowers adorning the houses along the way.
Nantucket boasts an array of fabulous dining spots. Our family favorites include Chanticleer, Claudettes, Galley Beach, White Elephant, The Summer House, and Cru. Don’t leave without trying some fresh seafood delicacies!
While you can prepare your own clambake with fresh clams, we highly recommend booking an experience at The Nantucket Hotel for their signature clambake. It’s such a treat you won’t want to miss.
When renting a vacation home, we love to have a pool, swimming is a family favorite. Ending the perfect pool days with s’mores and homemade pizzas just adds to the fun and relaxation.
Don’t forget to check my Amazon storefront and Nantucket list for our Nantucket favorites!
There’s something magical about Nantucket that fills my soul with peace and ignites my creativity. If you’ve never been, I can’t recommend it enough. Plan your trip during June or July for the best experience, and get ready for an unforgettable family adventure in this charming corner of the world.
XO,
Casey Wiegand
