Our four kiddos have followed in our footsteps, and our family cannot get enough of travel and hitting the open road, we LOVE road trips! Today I am sharing some of our favorite road trip essentials for kids.

Road trips are one of the best ways to spend quality time with your family this summer! If you haven’t made a plan yet for a fun road trip as a family, I’m going to share some tips and some of our favorites!
Let’s start with the basics, it can be hectic packing for a road trip with kids. As parents, we know how important it is to keep our little ones entertained during a long car ride.
For each kiddo to keep everything organized and easily accessible.
Snacks are a must-have to keep those tummies full and happy!
If you’re feeling crafty, you can even make your own road trip essentials for kids DIY style! Pinterest is your best friend here, with tons of fun ideas for activities and games you can create yourself. Think scavenger hunts, travel journals, and even homemade car organizers. The possibilities are endless!
There are many reasons why families should plan a road trip for this summer. First and foremost, it’s a fantastic way to bond and create lasting memories with your loved ones. We love the freedom of the open road and the adventures that come with it. Whether you’re exploring new cities, visiting national parks, or just taking a scenic drive, there’s something special about experiencing it all together as a family.
Road trips also give us options as parents. Whether you’re looking for a quick weekend getaway or a longer vacation, there’s a road trip for every schedule and budget.
If you’re a fan of camping, a road trip is the perfect opportunity to pack up the tent and sleeping bags and explore some of the country’s best campgrounds.
We’ve even traveled with an airstream trailer before, making for a more comfortable and convenient camping experience. Now our airstream is parked on Chris’s family land, so any road trips that we take this summer will be from the comfort of our own car!
Road trips aren’t just for summer vacation – they can also be a fun and educational way to travel during the school year. You can plan your trip around historical landmarks, national monuments, or even college visits for your older kiddos.
