I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our holiday was so special, filled with thanksgiving traditions and lots of new memories made.
Each year for Thanksgiving we head to my parent’s home. This is the house that I was raised in, so there is instant nostalgia and such a feeling of comfort to spend special holidays here.
It’s really beautiful to witness my children during the holidays in my childhood home. I see so much of my childhood playing out before me when I watch my kiddos making memories in the very same place I made most of mine!
My mom and dad set such a special table for us all to sit together! Their home is already decked out for Christmas, so we get to soak in the holiday magic! My mama does classic Christmas in such a special way!
Truly my favorite meal of the year is Thanksgiving dinner! I love everything my mom makes, and we have such a tradition to keep our meals similar each year.
I know some people don’t love it, but pumpkin pie is one of my favorite desserts on earth! Top with homemade whipped cream and it has my heart.
What I love most is all of the time spent together as a family. Each year the kids grow and we can make new thanksgiving traditions for kids! I love hearing them share their hearts as we talk around the table. We play family games, and usually, end the night with a Christmas movie!
Thanksgiving traditions that are some of my favorites are having a gratitude jar where everyone adds what they are grateful for, and also I love having the kids help with either artwork for decor or with something special for table settings!
All of the Thanksgiving traditions our family makes together are memories that I always hold onto! There may be many thanksgiving traditions and travel destinations, but my heart longs to stay close to home with the people that I love most in the world!
I hope that you had a beautiful holiday and are soaking in the season!
XO,
Casey Wiegand
