Christmas Mantle Decor

Decking our halls for the holidays brings me so much joy! There’s such magic in making our house reflect this special season, and embracing all of the wonder and anticipation! One of the things that I fell in love with when we first saw our house was the many fireplaces! To have multiple mantles to decorate for each season had me already dreaming up decor! I like having different vignettes throughout the home that I can make a bit different — each with its unique flair for Christmas! Mantles call for all of the Christmas coziness and whimsy this time of year! I love gathering different Christmas mantle decorating ideas!

For Making The Perfect Christmas Mantle Decorations!

1. Garland, garland, garland!

You can’t skip this step when working on Christmas mantle ideas! There are so many options! You can go traditional with evergreen, and add differing greenery like eucalyptus, magnolia, or branches.

I love this faux garland.  You can lay your greenery on top of the mantle, or add command hooks to swag your garland. You can keep your garland symmetrical and hanging evenly on both sides, or swoop the garland off to one side! This should feel like a creative project, so gather some inspirational photos of Christmas mantle garland and do what feels best for you!

2. Add candles & lights!

Bring the cozy lighting in, so that at night your mantle feels extra inviting! Twinkle lights like these are perfect, the more the merrier! Candlesticks like these are lovely . Battery-operated candles can do the trick if you want to leave them on and unattended!

3. Add a focal point!

Like this beautiful gold mirror or a piece of artwork! Play with scale, but I usually like something grand centered on the mantle! Whether you go vintage or for more of a Christmas mantle decor fireplace rustic feel, you can pick your decor pieces accordingly to match your vibe!

4. Add decor items like a vase with florals, sculptural, or pottery.

This vase is lovely or for the holidays you may want to add something like a brass reindeer or a pretty painted Santa or snowman. These finishing touches bring everything together!

5. Accessorize!

Ribbon can work wonders! Or little gold bells, holly, and ornaments, often these are items you may already have on hand! You will take things to the next level by adding these adornments!

Remember that your mantle gets to be a reflection of your home! I try to keep my mantles cohesive with the rest of our Christmas decor. It makes me so happy to catch glimpses of our mantle all lit up at Christmastime!
