My sweetest gift on earth is to be a mama to our children. Mother’s Day has such deep meaning for me, as I feel immense gratitude for my mother, and all of the mothers in my life — and I feel such joy and gratitude that I get to be a mama. My kiddos planned some super sweet mothers day activities for me.
For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of being a mother. I couldn’t have dreamt up anything better than the reality of mothering our four children. All of the beauty, heartache, pure love, and sacred moments of motherhood fill my heart in overwhelming ways.
Mother’s Day this year was filled with many of my favorite mothers day activities. Most important: family time! We took a sweet photo together on our staircase in our foyer. We’ve come so far this year during our home remodel, and I totally envisioned this staircase being a place for many special family photos!
Time spent outside on the weekend together is important to us, so we went to one of our favorite poolside spots. The kiddos swam and played in the sun, we enjoyed yummy pizza, ice cream sandwiches, and what feels like summer right on the horizon! My little family had the sweetest gifts, cards and crafts for me!
In past years we enjoy a Mother’s Day Brunch, and I thought it might be fun to share some tips for hosting a celebratory brunch.
Pretty florals, a fun springy runner, candles, sweet treats at each place setting. Plan ahead for a colorful table scape. You can go as simple or elaborate as you’d like, but florals are always a must!
For brunch, I like a nice mix of both breakfast and lunch favorites. Think of all of your most loved breakfast foods and then also add some side dishes and items that could be suitable for lunch too. I like to pick a menu a few days in advance so that we have time to shop and prep.
Whether a cocktail or mocktail, it can be fun to have a pretty drink in a fancy glass at a brunch celebration. I love pink lemonade with something bubbly!
The more options the better! Chocolate covered strawberries, cupcakes, pies — the more the merrier for fun sweet options!
Lighting, scents, music playing, decor — it all comes together to set a vibe for the day. Make a brunch playlist, and pop some of your favorite floral and citrus oils into your diffuser!
When thinking of mothers day gifts from kids and mothers day gift ideas remember that what is from the heart is most important. I love anything creative from my children, mothers day quotes, or any type of keepsake that I can hold onto for years to come.
I hold these memories close to my heart, and cherish the days where all of my kiddos are under one roof together. Any day that we can spend all together matters so much to me!
