I can’t deny that having a laundry room like this makes doing laundry far more enjoyable! Creating a bright, clean, and functional laundry space has been a wonderful place to keep up with all of our family’s laundry needs. Our laundry room makeover took some time, but in the end it has been SO worth it!
There are many elements to this design that I am in love with! I’m excited to share a few of those details here!
Swoon! Blue is an accent color that I’ve intentionally woven through different rooms of our home. I felt like I could go a little more bold on the flooring in here than I did through the rest of the house. I feel like this pattern adds the perfect amount of color and whimsy to this space! Wallpaper would also be a great way to add style and color into this space!
Anywhere that it was possible I added additional or larger windows into our home. The more natural light the better, and in a laundry space this can be even more true! Adding some sunshine into your daily routine and chores can really be a mood booster.
These brass pendants steal the show, and are such a statement piece in the room! I also added under cabinet lighting into the laundry room, which keeps things functional if I’m working in here at night, and also adds a cozy ambiance to the space. Why said a laundry room has to be boring? Be creative with your decor!
We went with a stackable washer and dryer, and I love what a space saving option this is! They take up less of a footprint of the room, allowing for more counter space, organization, and my favorite element…
Having a sink in our laundry room is a must! I can’t begin to tell you how convenient it is! I’ll use it when something needs to soak, if I am pretreating a stain, or need to give something a quick rinse. It’s also extra charming to have the sink in front of a window — if you know me, you know I have a thing for sink windows!!
The amount of laundry room storage in this room makes me beyond happy! Upper and lower laundry room cabinets, counter space, laundry room shelves! It really makes our laundry room function as a utility room of sorts. There is space for storing more than just our laundry needs, and there is room to grow into this space for sure! We also added in items like these large baskets, large glass jar, rolling basket, glass wood jar, grass basket, wood basket we can never have enough storage options!
Some of my favorite accessories were found on Amazon and Target including: dryer balls, laundry sign, clothes pins, fabric shaver, this super cute Target diffuser , wood hangers, glass pump bottle, laundry stain brush, this perfect label set from Amazon, LOVE the aesthetic of this mini wood dust pan, another inexpensive diffuser option — this one from Amazon, these pretty glass apothecary jars! All of these options will work perfectly in a laundry space, and are more of an elevated version of some of the basics we would normally have on hand!
Check out all of my amazon favorites all here!
With this new space we’ve had plenty of places to stockpile our favorite Thieves laundry products, back up wool dryer balls, and extras of any of our must haves. I hope that you find inspiration in this space that can be used in your space as well!
Our cabinetry, hardware, and countertops flow nicely with the rest of the finishes throughout our house. I am forever grateful to see each of these spaces take shape, and to imagine our life for years to come in this dream home of ours!
XO,
Casey Wiegand
