Decorating my kiddos’ room is one of my favorite parts of making our house into a home. I love creating special spaces that are a reflection of each of their personalities. They love giving their input along the way.
Our youngest daughter, Adelaide’s room has come together as such a sweet space in our home. We’ve taken our time to decorate her space in layers. The most recent additions to her space have added a lot of her personality. When thinking of room ideas aesthetic and bedroom paint colors I felt that tones of blue, creamy white, and subtle touches of blush would be perfect for her!
Adelaide’s room has a vintage feel, with sweet florals, touches of whimsy and magic — an unapologetically classic little girl’s room. I kept all of this in mind when dreaming of room decor ideas, and room inspirations.
Some of my favorite pieces in her bedroom design are her beautiful tulle play fort that she loves hanging out in, her wallpaper which is from my collection with Curated Walls, her vintage dresser, the newly added vanity area painted the prettiest pink, and all of the touches of blue florals from her artwork to the classic mirror that sits on her pink vanity.
Adelaide is really happy with her space! She’s five, so I wanted her space to still feel very youthful and childlike, I think she can grow alongside many of the pieces, but I do think it’s such a short moment in time that they are this little, so we wanted to embrace that with her room!
Many of her vintage and antique pieces were painted. It this allows us to make them cohesive with our style, and gives them a nice refresh. I love mixing wood pieces, with painted pieces and even things like wicker or rattan. Even for smaller rooms, one larger vintage piece can really ground the space!
I’m always on the hunt for vintage artwork for bedroom wall decor. I think it can add so much character and warmth into a space. I added a few floral pieces into Adelaide’s room and I love the way they fit into the overall bedroom aesthetic and vibe that we were going for!
My wish for Adelaide, and all of our children, is that they feel safe and at home in their rooms. I always want them to remember what it felt like to be under our roof, together as a family!
XO,
Casey Wiegand
