Gift giving is very dear to my heart. I love to celebrate my people, and show them just how much I appreciate them! It truly is the thought that counts, taking the time to do something special to show just how much you care!
For Valentine’s Day we usually give a little something special to the kiddos and share some sweet festive treats. My girls especially love festive valentine clothing or accessories. There is so much cute stuff out this time of year! I also love to look for valentines gift ideas for husband – and have something special for Chris, too!
I like to embrace these post Christmas holidays, to keep from feeling the winter blues. Really any excuse to celebrate is good enough for me!
When shopping for Valentine’s Day, if you’re wanting to do something extra special this year, here are a few tips for putting a cute gift together for your kiddos!
For Easter we have baskets, for Valentine’s Day, if you’re getting several items for your kiddos, it’ll be extra fun if you put them in a sweet reusable bag or tote. Pink, red, covered in hearts — the more festive the better!
Layering in some basket filler or tissue makes for a celebratory gift! Pink, red and white, heart cut outs, tinsel – whatever you want to use to jazz things up!
I love to look for things in the Target dollar spot, or in the accessory section at my favorite stores. Cute socks, headbands, lip balms — extra points if they’re covered in hearts!
Sweet books about love and families are fun to include. Reading together is such a beautiful way to connect.
The way to my heart! Whether I include some watercolors, pastels, a coloring book, a small canvas etc. Anything to encourage creativity!
What is Valentine’s Day without the sweets!? Buy a few bags that have individually wrapped candies so that they are easy to divide up. Nobody needs to know if you hide a couple for yourself!
Let your loved one know just how special they are, words of affirmation are such a tender gift!
You can take many of these ideas and use them for valentines gift ideas for friends, valentines gift ideas for him, valentines gift ideas for teachers, or valentines gift ideas for coworkers!
Each kiddo will have their own little bag to open up on Valentine’s Day, we will have some fun decorations, and festive treats! My girls love to decorate and set a table, so I am sure they will be making our holiday extra sweet!
I have so many precious memories from over the years. It’s really special to me that I’ve taken after my mama, who always celebrated the little things, and passed that love on to my children. I hope that they carry on these little traditions with their own families someday.
Wishing you all a lovely Valentine’s Day!
XO,
Casey Wiegand
