What a sweet Christmas at home with the ones that I love! We had such a magical holiday together, and I am grateful for every moment. These are the days that I never want to forget! I’m tucking away so many precious memories of this year together forever!
This was our first Christmas in our new home! As I looked around filled with gratitude, it was such a reminder of how sometimes the hardest paths, those unexpected turns of events, lead us right where we are meant to be. Last Christmas we never could have expected that the very next year we would be in an entirely different house. Honestly, our new reality, is more beautiful than we could have dreamed!
Many of our most treasured traditions are in the backdrop of our new home! Our family had a few holiday celebrations. First my whole family celebrated at my parent’s home, which was cozy and filled with nostalgia. Celebrating the holidays in the home that I grew up in, with my kiddos there to experience it all is something that I’m forever grateful for!
My parents have a beautiful way of keeping everything traditional and classic Christmas! From red, green, and navy plaid, their beautiful tree, signs with christmas at home quotes, and all of our stockings lining the fireplace, it all just feels like the perfect christmas at home aesthetic. My mom always sets a special Christmas table, and makes our favorite foods! I always look forward to this time of year. I love celebrating with my family and all of the christmas at home ideas that my mama has.
The first Christmas morning in our new home was everything that I had dreamed it would be. I loved seeing those sleepy, happy faces staring back at me. This moment is etched in my memories forever. A few of their most favorite gifts were an electric scooter, aerial silks, and a cozy indoor tulle fort. There’s nothing quite like Christmas morning, giddy laughter, contagious excitement, and all of the memories of childhood that flood in.
Christmas jammies were our christmas outfit of choice. The kids enjoyed christmas at home activities, and playing together. My hope is that my children carry the same fondness in their hearts, of the memories that we are making here together. A casual christmas at home photoshoot would be a lovely way to capture this all forever.
We had a slow morning at home, kids playing with their gifts, a yummy breakfast together, and just time spent soaking it all in! Our kitchen is still in the final stages of renovation, we did our best to enjoy the space, but I have even bigger dreams for next year once everything is complete!
Tell me, how was your Christmas? What are your most treasured traditions? I’d love to hear how you celebrate and what you look forward to most about this season!
XO,
Casey Wiegand
