Ainsleigh’s Beautiful Blue Wallpaper

I’ve loved sharing updates for each of my girls’ bedrooms here! Adding wallpaper that suits each of their personalities has made such an impact on the overall feel of their spaces. We recently installed beautiful blue wallpaper in our oldest daughter, Ainsleigh’s bedroom, and we are all so happy with it!

We used the Peonies in Bloom, a blue wallpaper aesthetic from my collection with Curated Walls. Click the link and shop wallpaper from The Casey Leigh Collection here!

To recap, we used the Adelaide print in Adelaide’s room and Sweet Apple for Apple’s space. I am so in love with how cozy each of their bedrooms feel. The blue floral print really fits Ainsleigh’s personality, rather than blue wallpaper plain or blue wallpaper aesthetic pastel, we went with a floral print in a classic blue tone, and she is really happy with it!

We are still working on Roman shades/ curtains for their spaces, and finishing details, but I love to share the process here! So many elements of design come in layers and stages, and we are soaking it all in.

1. Incorporate custom pieces

This doesn’t have to be as pricey as you may think, whether it be refinishing a piece of furniture, crafting, or diy-ing something with fabric… I think having something in your home that is unique to you is really special.

2. Vintage, vintage, vintage

Facebook marketplace, antique stores, thrift shops, flea markets… I am constantly on the hunt for pretty vintage furniture, mirrors, artwork, and decor pieces. Layering in a few things that are classic and unique (and usually more quality made!) adds so much interest to any room.

3. Define your style

Your style can be eclectic and a mix of two or more styles, but you should still work on naming it! What are you drawn most to? Start with a Pinterest board of your favorites and see if you can identify a theme. I love whimsical, classic, French country, vintage and light and bright spaces. I carry this theme throughout our home for a cohesive space that feels like us!

4. Texture and color add interest

If you have your heart set on all neutrals, be sure to add varying textures for interest. Woven fabrics, baskets, throw pillows and area rugs with texture, glass and wood elements, greenery etc. can really liven up a neutral space. If you love to embrace color, can you think of a palette that most suits you and carry it throughout your home? Maybe the color that is most prominent will change from room to room, but you can find a similar palette throughout your home. Wallpaper is a perfect way to carry a color palette or added texture to any room in your home!

5. Set the mood with lighting

Lighting at varying levels makes SUCH a difference. I am a lover of lamps, sconces, twinkle lights, LED candles, diffusers on candle flicker or glow setting, dimmer switches for overhead lighting etc. Anything to add multiple sources of light. This is one of those areas that many don’t consider, and they make a HUGE difference!
