Summer is here, and I am always craving cool, refreshing, fruit filled beverages for by the pool, or while we are BBQing in the backyard. Texas summers are HOT and slushy drinks are such a treat on the warmest days.
You can get as creative as you’d like, as long as you have a blender and a freezer, you’re good to go! Adding any of your favorite fruit combinations would be delicious. I think strawberries with lemonade, cherries with limeade, watermelon and coconut water, nectarines with white grape juice, raspberries with cranberry juice — just a few ideas to make your summer beverages extra delicious. For added flavor, you can put herbs like mint or basil in. For a lower sugar option, you can add homemade lemonade healthy, or homemade lemonade with stevia. So bright and refreshing!
We’ve tried lots of different frozen drinks, and this frozen peach lemonade found here, is one of our absolute favorites. It’s really fruity and a bit tart from the lemonade. The perfect balance of sweet and tart, and the icy texture is just perfect for summer. Makes me think of my kiddos with their homemade lemonade stand, serving up their homemade lemonade recipe gallon after gallon!
Flat Baking Dish – size depends on how much you’re making
Glasses to Serve it up
Drink Skewers to add Garnishes
Take 3 pitted peaches, you can chop them up to make blending a breeze, removing skin is optional, add can of frozen lemonade and 24 ounces of water all into the blender. Or you can totally add your favorite homemade lemonade recipe, or homemade lemonade with lemon juice, Blend them up!
Next, take your glass baking dish, 9X13 should fit this recipe well, pour blended mixture into dish. Make sure you clear some freezer space, cover dish with lid or plastic wrap, place in the freezer for about 4 hours.
To serve it up, you can use a fork to mash up/ stir up the slushy mixture, and then spoon it into your glass.
Add lemon slices, sliced peaches or berries for garnish! Fresh mint is really delicious with this drink as well. This drink can easily be spiked for adults to enjoy, if you enjoy a summer cocktail.
Let me know if you make and love this refreshing treat as much as we do in our house. Or, if you change up which fruit combinations to add, I’d love to hear about them. Tag me on social media!
