Summertime is quickly approaching, and with the kiddos out of school, we are sure to spend more time with family and friends! I love the idea of hosting a whimsical summer party, whether indoors or outside in the sunshine. I’m sharing some of my favorite ideas for hosting the perfect party this summer!
This will make your party aesthetic feel extra fun and have everything looking more cohesive. Fun summer colors, like a rainbow palette are inviting and sweet. You could also go with a theme like lemons/ lemonade, watermelon, wildflowers, or ice cream like what’s pictured here, and pull colors from your inspiration. You could even include the theme when you choose your party outfit. So fun!
For a summer party, I think vibrant and whimsical is the way to go! I love to layer: start with a fun tablecloth or runner, add vases for fresh summer blooms, look for plates and glassware that scream summertime, these ice cream theme plates and cone cups are perfect to set the stage. Paper straws, banners, plates and napkins can all be on theme. I also like to add banners or garland, like this felt wool garland. Just an extra touch of whimsy to tie everything together.
This will make the party have a homemade touch. Check out my Artful Home monthly membership for our printables! We change these up often and seasonally, to give you fresh ideas and fun things to incorporate into your daily life. These Summer Love pennants are super sweet, and can be fastened to paper straws or wooden skewers and added to your floral arrangement or put at each place setting. My affirmation cards also come in really beautiful summer colors, and could be a sweet reminder of encouragement for each party guest. You could set these at each place setting, or display them fanned out along the center of the table.
What’s a summer soiree without delicious party food and drinks!? Take the time beforehand to plan out your menu, this will bring any party to the next level. For me, summertime food includes fresh fruit, a variety of yummy salads, party food platters, and something from the grill. Summery drinks, mocktails, and kid friendly drinks can be on theme, too! Put your drinks in pitchers or large containers with pour spouts. Add fresh fruit for color and flavor — a perfect garnish. For this particular setup, dessert would include a make your own ice cream sundae bar! Get creative and have fun with all of the delicious fresh produce that is available this time of year!
There’s nothing quite like gathering family together, with delicious food for a special party! There is so much to celebrate, whether it be an end of school year party, or maybe the first time you’ve gotten together with those that you love in a while. Holding them close and making those memories is what counts most. Remember to have fun and to enjoy the process!
Tag me in your summer fun!
