Check out my video here to see some peeks behind the scenes!
Making art and being creative is where I come alive and feel the most at home. I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember, and even taught art classes for kids for a time!
I’m a mixed media artist, so I love to work with all different types of materials and styles. I thought I would share with you a few tips/ my favorite things to get you started on making more art at home!
I can’t encourage you enough to dive in, and try something new, art should be about enjoying the process!
+ Set up an area where you are free to be creative! We have an art table off of our kitchen and I keep many supplies out at all times. I LOVE my art easel from Amazon!
+ Set aside the time! Whether you like being creative first thing in the morning, or in the evening once everything settles down, find your rhythm and time and give yourself the gift of intentional creative time.
+ If you aren’t sure yet what your style or medium are, try a few different types of paint and give yourself permission to play around and learn! Watercolor, acrylic, oil etc. there’s no limit to what you may create!
I hope to encourage you to make more art, and to display your own pieces in your home!
You have to start investing in your dreams. You have to stop letting the space between where you are and where you want to be hold you back.
You have to know that your unique voice, your take on the world, the art that you have to offer — it matters. You have to find beauty in the process and be proud of each small step that you take. Doors may close, the path might look different than you expect, but you are strong enough to find a way. So take a second, look around and realize that your dreams matter. Seeing these dreams come to life is the greatest gift.
