Changing over our family’s laundry products has made such a big difference for us!

If you’re looking to make your home more natural, and to embrace a low-tox lifestyle, this one is a no brainer. The laundry room is the perfect place to start “ditching and switching”.

This doesn’t have to happen all at once, think about embracing natural living one step at a time, with each step being a move in a positive direction. Below are a few of my favorite natural products for our laundry room!

Thieves Laundry Soap

I can’t sing its praises enough. This is by far my favorite plant based laundry soap! It’s free from SLS and so many of the ingredients that might be hiding in your traditional laundry detergent. It’s also super concentrated, and can wash 64 loads, from one small bottle!

Wool Dryer Balls/ Custom Dryer Blend
Speaking of ditching and switching, if you are still using synthetic dryer sheets it’s time to toss those! Get yourself some wool dryer balls and add your own custom essential oil blend to them! I have a glass dropper bottle ready to go with Tangerine, Ylang Ylang, Lavender + Lemon Myrtle – SO good! I also love adding this right into our laundry room diffuser!

Make a DIY Stain Stick!
I buy giant glass roller bottles on Amazon, and fill them with equal parts Thieves Laundry Soap, Thieves Dish Soap, Thieves Cleaner & Water. I use this as a “pre treatment” on stains before throwing our clothes into the wash!

Keep Thieves Cleaner Handy
You can also spray on Thieves cleaner to pre treat stains! I love it for cleaning out the inside of my front load washing machine, and have been known to throw a capful into the basin of the wash for especially stinky clothes!

Make a DIY scent booster
So super simple! I use Epsom salt, and add the oils of my choice (this one was citrus fresh and lavender! As many drops as it takes to get your desired scent), let them soak in and then mix it together! I keep a scoop in the jar, and will add some right into the basin of the wash.

Don’t Forget your Lemon EO
Great for stuck on goo, and brightening whites! I use in the actual basin of the washer, and don’t run any EOs through the washer lines. Always keeping in mind just how potent our oils are!

I hope that these simple tips help you to embrace a more natural way of doing your laundry!
