That sacred time. Last night my 9 year old wrapped her arms right around me, pulled me close and whispered in my ear- “Mama this is my favorite part of the day.”
It’s when I go lay with each kiddo at bedtime and listen to all their thoughts and stories from their day with no one else around. We have a set routine and they can count on this time with me day after day.
Many many times they mention that it makes them feel grateful because they have been waiting for that time to share something in those quiet, sacred moments. Not rushed, not chaotic. There is so much beauty in the stillness. I don’t know when these times will end but I hope they never do. A strong foundation of sharing and stability- they know I’m there. From late night rockings to big kid bedtime conversations. Don’t miss the importance of this time.
Last night as I left Apple (7 yrs) she whispered… Mama, when Im grown. I’ll invite you on every vacation and you can always choose the best bed.
Is there a greater gift to me than them? Nope. They win always 😭✨
Do you have a set night routine?!
