One of my favorite things about fall is having the opportunity to plan out fun little get togethers with friends and family! Halloween is such a great time to get little ones (and adults, too!) together for treats and dress up.
Making sweet things to share is such a special thing to do with my kids, and we have recently fallen in love with these super easy frozen bananas! Inspiration came from this video I saw from Jennifer Garner while I was scrolling through Instagram, watch here!!!!
1 1/4 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
Melt the chocolate in a small metal bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Or use a double boiler if you have it! Stir in the coconut oil and heat until dissolved. Keep lukewarm until ready to use. Chocolate will harden into a shell within a few seconds when spooned over ice cream, or in our case: frozen bananas!
To make these super fun frozen bananas, just peel and cut your bananas in half. Gently insert a popsicle stick and lay them out on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Freeze for at least an hour or two, then coat with your DIY magic shell! Let the kids decorate with their favorite toppings: sprinkles, dry cereal, bits of fruit – let their creativity shine through!
This is a great activity to do for a kids party, halloween gathering, or a lazy Saturday afternoon. A sweet and natural treat, YAY!
