Y’all know my love for Lily Jade. She is such a dear friend with a heart of gold and happens to have DREAMY bags! So excited to be collaborating with them again today + sharing the winners from our giveaway!
“Wow. To say we were blessed, inspired, and amazed by your motherhood stories is an understatement. Almost every single one of you thanked us for allowing you to share your story; in reality, I’m the one thankful for the opportunity to hear your stories! And thank you so much, Casey, for sharing this opportunity with your beautiful readers! ( see first post here)
It felt impossible to chose just one mommy, so we chose two! Here are a few pieces of their stories:
From Shellie: “Then God spoke so incredibly clear that I would become a mom, but that it would look different. And indeed it did when we brought home our new son, a 17 year old. This man-kid that soared above my average height and looks nothing like me made me a mama. I heard him yell those precious words while playing cards with his new cousins after living in our home for 6 weeks. “MOM!!! They are cheating!” ‘Mom.’ It was real. I was a mom. Tears stung as they ran down my cheeks that night. And three weeks later we would finalize in court and make it official. As I stood in the courthouse with all of our family surrounding us, I will never forget the judge asking if we promised to love him forever. Of course! Why would anyone ask something so obvious? He was my son. I was his mama. Forever was part of the package.”
And this one, from Ashley: “I’ve had a lot of good examples of moms in my life. None compare to my oldest sister Valerie. She never treated me like an annoying little sister. Valerie was always kind and a second mom to me. I always looked up to her. When she was 12 she was diagnosed with cancer. Valerie proved to be strong and a fighter and she beat the tumor that was taking over her body. Eventually. Valerie grew up and got married and desired to have a family of her own and become a mom. After a few years of trying she was blessed with her first daughter Sophia. She was blessed two more girl to make her family complete. I still look up to her as I’m raising my own kids now. Valerie loves her family more than anything and will do anything for them. I’ve seen her sacrifice a lot for girls. Recently Valerie’s husband was diagnosed with brain cancer. He was given about two years to live. This has been really hard on Valerie. Pretty soon she will have to take on the role of single mom. She loves Rob more than anything and it hurts her knowing she will have to say goodbye way too soon. Valerie has been through so much in her life. She is an excellent mom and soon to be dad too.”
We are contacting the winners soon, and I can’t wait to hear what they think of their bags in person! Thankful for all of you taking the time to share the story of a deserving mommy. You made our Mother’s Day extra special!” -Meggan, Lily Jade.
