home tour, a shared room
Last week ( here) I showed you Ainsleigh’s room- soon to be Apple’s and mentioned working on Aiden and Ainsleigh’s new shared room. This started out as Aiden’s nursery, then was Ainsleigh’s nursery, then back to Aiden’s big boy room and now is being transformed into their shared room for a bit while Apple is small!
Chris made this piece and we got the little baskets at Ikea- its such an easy way to store all of their toys!
I kept all of Aiden’s clothes in his room and then the girls will share a closet in the nursery.
We found this dresser awhile back for $30 at an old flea market! The lamp is from Ikea and all of the animals can be found here and here.
Aiden’s bed we found at Ikea. The pillows are all mixed and matched- 2 are from my parents, and the rest we found various places. The long round one and the square navy one (that matches the blanket at the end of the bed) were custom orders made before Aiden was born for his crib! We use this lovely lady for all our custom bedding!
Ainsleigh’s side of the room is so sweet. Chris hand built the rails so that she won’t fall off when we start transitioning her into this big girl bed. The quilt on the chair was my grandmothers and the quilt on her bed can be found here.
The 2 custom pillows were done by our girl here. And the sweet dolly can be foundhere.
These 2 custom Silhouette Prints are one of my most treasured gifts ever. They are of Aiden and Ainsleigh- and I was able to customize the color, the look, the quotes, everything- and they are true perfection. My sweet friend Jessi teamed up with the lovely Out Of Alabaster and they have a ton of examples you can look at here! This is something that I will cherish forever and ever, truly!
The beautiful hoop art “morning by morning” can be found here!! And bunting found here.
I actually have a “hoop art wall” that I am working on to go around these and next to a giant painting I did- a few arent here just yet so I will update this last wall when I get it all complete!
Hoop art from here and a few sweet gifts fromhere will be updated to this wall very soon!
What a cozy room! Makes me very nostalgic…the first 7 years of my life I shared a room with my brother who was 15 months older than me, and my two little sisters shared their room across the hall. ๐
I love everything about this room!! You husband is so handy. I'm curious, where did you get Ansleigh's wooden bed frame? I noticed that the railings are screwed right into it. That's a great idea.
This is such a sweet room! I love how you kept their "sides" boyish and girly but still meshed the whole room together well. I shared a room with my big brother for a while when we were about 5 and 7. He would hang off the top bunk in the {early} morning and whisper "are you awake?" until I was. Then he'd come down to sit on my bed and tell me stories. ๐ And he'd sooth me when I thought my dollhouse was a buffalo in the dark. HA! xo Alanna
I love your decorating and unique, personal touches because it reminds me of my childhood home. My mom had such a way of making a house a home, and you, my dear, have that gift! I just love how cozy the kids' room looks. Awesome job, Casey!
oh yea, and I just did a blog post for my series "20 questions" about my mom if you wanna read about her ๐ she is fabulous and just the best mama. I imagine you to be the kind of mom she was when we were little. ๐ I hope to be just like her when I have kids too!
Casey, thank you for sharing. What a sweet room, I love it! ๐ I love the verse you chose for Aiden's photo. I know its a popular verse, but I found it in my dad's wallet after he died, also when I went away to college my RA placed it on the wall opposite of my dorm room, it was random, but I feel like it wasn't a coincidence. It was lovely seeing it daily and remembering my dad:) What a great verse for a little boy:)
what a fun room to grow up in! love the toy story dolls. woody is my fave. ๐
What a fun room! Love it.
So beautifully decorated! Everything looks wonderful..
Amazing ๐
Looks wonderful! Very homey and sweet. I want to curl up with a book, and a baby in my lap!
Oh my goodness girl- this room is so adorable. All of the little touches are so sweet. You've done such a great job!
