the messy bun.
A blog I love to look to for inspiration is A Beautiful Mess! I wanted to try her messy bun (from here) combined with a sock bun tutorial I saw on pinterest (here).
My hair is super thin so I wanted it to look more full by adding in the sock! My hair also naturally has the “messy look” so I am not going to lie… you could kind of see the sock between the two! So I chose a fun argyle one to make it look like a hair accessory and a combo of these two tutorials actually made me look like I had full, thick hair!
LOOOVe this! I have actually been thinking a lot about embracing the messy hair look. did you see the one comment a girl left on your guest post this week?! she was oogling over your hair. 🙂
Casey you're just so beautiful! I hope you are really soaking up the lovely time in California! I lived in SO. Cal. For awhile and really missed the stars. You know, the ones in the sky (heehee) . Nothing like the big skies of Texas to show you how BIG our God really is. (yes I've lived almost everywhere).
Hands down….you rock the messy bun better thank ANYONE else! I have really thin hair too and my bun always looks so teeny tiny! I will try this!! Thanks pretty girl!
Adorable!! I recently tried the "top knot" bun from your hair pinterest board. I adore that bun!! Looks like something Audrey Hepburn would've done with her hair!!! Thanks for the tutorial!
i found this tutorial came too late because i chopped all my hair off…therefore no bun. BUT! it looks amazing on you and the cute patterned sock Casey-fied it! 😉
Thanks Casey! I'm sportin' a Messy Bun today. I've had Messy Buns before, with my curly/frizzy hair, but I've never pinned it like this before, never knew. 🙂
I have LOTS of thick hair so the messy but is never an issue.
I must say, this is awesome! I love Stephanie from A BEAUtiful Mess, & I love this post.
Thanks for the tutorial!
Happy Weekend!

Oh, I used to play with my grandmothers hair rat. That is what used to be used where you are using the sock, to roll the hair over.
Love it!!
