There was a moment that I was sitting on the floor today and we were all in deep conversation and I couldn’t help but think how much I wished that I could just capture their personalities now and save them for me to watch and see and delight in as they grow and change.
I want every bit of it stuffed away…. so that as it begins to fade, I still hold the key.
(Sigh) I was just listening to my oldest read aloud (first time ever), it's making my heart melt (a mix of breaking and skipping a beat), I'm with you, I want it to sloooow down and they want to wriggle out of my arms and run… Thanks for your post, as always, a beautiful peek into your life.
Aiden looks so grown up in the second to last picture! Little ones are so precious. Sometimes I wish I could back pedal and think like a little kid again. As we get older it seems like all the wonder just disappears.
Beautiful pictures, words, people… 🙂 Just beautiful! If only they could be little forever! I love the way you set the tone for the day. We need some twinkle lights! 🙂 Casey, you are too sweet! Is that possible? 🙂
Ahh, I needed this tonight. I've been having the same thoughts with our 2 & 3yr olds. Time flies too fast. And love the tip on setting the mood for rainy days like today… I'll be trying that out with my kiddos soon! Thanks for the post. I'm a pretty new follower, and love it all!
These photos are stunning. It's so amazing how those daily moments are the most precious.
What a wonderful idea for art time! Thanks for sharing with us.
I hear ya! I have a 2 year old girl and a 4 year old boy and there are moments that I just want to freeze.
Love the pictures. XX
What a precious post! (And, of course, precious time in their lives.) The first thing I thought of when seeing these pictures was how big Aiden looks…even in just a couple days since you last posted a picture of him! Too bad they cannot stay little, but at least you are really cherishing this time!

guess what it is really easy to capture the children of now in the tomorrows. there are glances, gestures, manners of dealing with blessings, challenges etc that are evident. and they bring memories of the steps that helped us get here. it is so wonderful to see their Savior working in their lives. you will see this as you go thru the different stages. He is so merciful in helping us preserve these.
i love the lighting i these photographs, you have such a lovely smile, i love the photo of you holding those flowers

I have said on more than one occasion that I would love to have a recording of my children's entire lives so that I can re-watch all of it when they are grown. I can't capture enough! I don't get to frame or even print many of my pics often, but I HAVE them. And that is so important to me.

Beautiful post. I admire you in so many ways and hope to be the kind of mother you are someday! I am expecting and due very soon and the other day I was wondering as I looked at a photo on your instagram.. do your children ever throw tantrums? They seem so happy and well behaved. What is your discipline style? I'm assuming you teach with love, but there has to be some hard moments. As adorable as they are, I'm sure they have moments just like every child. I would love to read a post on that! Thanks for writing.

I feel like I express these sentiments often when I comment on your posts but your children are so precious! That first photo of you is gorgeous too:) I love your thoughts on "setting the tone" with the kids. I've always worked on speaking softly, but I like your other ideas as well! Oh and don't get me started on wanting to remember everything about when the kids are little. I'm a nanny and my current job is ending soon, so I find myself taking way more photos of our everyday activities and writing down the funny things that they say. It all goes by WAY too fast!
