A couple of days ago we had been playing outside all day and as we were getting ready to go inside we heard our “chicken” cockadoodledoo! I thought…surely not?? We bought our two chickens from the sweetest farm and they assured us that they only sell hens…so, since October we have assumed that is what we had! Roosters aren’t allowed where we live, chickens are.
Fast forward. We put them up, came inside and went about our evening. Well, first thing the next morning we hear over and over and over in ourbackyard our rooster crowing! I never in a million years thought that I would cry over a chicken (rooster) but we have so loved raising this sweet guy! I honestly was worried about him and so Chris called the farm. They were so kind, said it was their mistake and assured us that they love having roosters roaming around on their property and that he would be happy there. We drove him back over and dropped him off. It was so sad! I kept thinking….why I am I so so sad over this guy?! But our pets are truly a part of our family and bring so much joy to our babies…for that I am forever grateful to our sweet rooster. To all our sweet pets. All the memories!
Pets are such precious companions and we will forever make sure that is well cherished in our home.
The people at the farm were so gracious and gave us a sweet baby chick to ease the sadness a bit with a cute fuzzy little bundle to bring home. Plus the chicken that we still have just lost her best friend! The kids are smitten!
And so the friendship begins….
Oh Casey, this is so sweet. The pictures are so precious. <3
