DIY Kids Calm Butter
I love taking special time with each of my kids before bed to help ease them into a time of rest. We turn on the twinkly lights and get the diffusers going and snuggle in for some time to connect. Spending time rubbing their back or doing a little massage is such an simple way to help them relax and getting ready to sleep, and it only takes a few minutes.
I have an easy DIY to share with you today – I call it our Calm Body Butter. It keeps our skin soft and moisturized, and it’s filled with super calming oils to help make the transition to sleep that much easier!
Just grab a glass jar with a lid and a few ingredients. I find most of these on Amazon!
1/2 cup Cocoa butter
1/2 cup Shea Butter
1/2 cup Coconut oil
1/2 cup Jojoba oil
20 drops Peace&Calming
Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl, except Peace & Calming.
Set the boil over a saucepan with about 1/2” of simmering water in it (you’re making your own double boiler!)
Bring to medium heat and whisk until all ingredients are melted.
Remove from heat and let cool a bit. Add in Peace & Calming.
Let the mixture cool for about an hour in the fridge.
Whip mixture for about 10 minutes in a mixer, until fluffy.
Let the mixture continue to cool and set in the fridge for about 20 minutes.
Transfer to a glass jar with a lid you’re ready to go!
This is great for parents and kids alike – a great way to keep skin soothed, all while promoting peaceful rest.
