Cooking with Blue Apron.
We have had such a fun weekend home together filled with activities and adding time together in the kitchen is always a priority, so many sweet memories are made together in the kitchen!
As soon as I tell the kiddos that I want their help cooking, the girls run as fast as they can and start pulling out bowls and chairs and pots- literally overwhelmed with excitement that they get to be a part of it!
They decided very quickly that as they helped with the actual recipe, they were also going to be creating their own “pretend soups” with me!
I am so excited to be heading into the spring and summer with some new recipes! I have wanted to get more confident in the kitchen and a lot more creative- Blue Apron has helped so much with that!
I tend to have a lot of trouble breaking away from the same few recipes but since using Blue Apron, it has helped SO much with helping me break out of this!
The girls and I decided to make the English Pea and Goat Cheese Quiches and they were AMAZING! Soooo easy to make and incredibly delicious!
I have always wanted to make a quiche so we were really looking forward to this!!
Blue Apron , a service that delivers fresh ingredients in a refrigerated box, all packaged in the right amounts for the recipes to make three different meals…. they make it really easy for me to do that!
All of their recipes are so incredibly gorgeous, I can never actually believe it that I cook these dishes all on my own!
To me, it can be so intimidating to tackle a new recipe filled with new ingredients but what I love SO much about Blue Apron is that everything you need comes right to you!! Including step by step instructions and even photos! All beautiful, fresh ingredients right to your doorstep.
^^^ aren’t these cards amazing?? seriously, takes the intimidation out of the kitchen! Six simple steps all written out for you with photos.
step by step instructions with photos!
When it comes to your door, everything is labeled in individual packages making it incredibly easy to work with. Once I pulled what I needed for the first recipe, then I just poured my ingredients into individual bowls.
Each of the kiddos had their own bowls…they helped with the peas and each made their little pretend soups as we went. We had a blast!
We also had so much fun unpacking each little thing- its such a fun experience to let the whole family in on!
Plus I loveeee that I can save the recipe cards and recreate the recipes in larger scale ( for more people) like for fun dinner parties! I have always wanted to make a quiche- I was so excited to add that recipe card!
They now offer this awesome recycling program for all of this packaging- you can read more on that here!
Not only did it push us to try new recipes but also because the ingredients come in the exact proportions, we aren’t wasting anything since I don’t have to buy a huge jar of expensive spices for a recipe that I may not make again for awhile.
A couple other recipes I’ve been eyeing to try for my fam are the White Turkey Chili and the Chicken and Drop Biscuit Casserole – YUM!
All of the recipes take 40 minutes or less and my kiddos absolutely loved getting in the kitchen with me and helping step by step!
Being in the kitchen together is so special. Having my babies along side me in the kitchen is the sweetest, I always want them to be a part of that.
Special memories happen around a table.
Whether it be little tea parties, pretend soup, helping with the peas or eating a family dinner…. the moments spent together are everything.
