A Morning Full of Magic

Easter morning in our home always begins with joy — sleepy eyes, tousled hair, and little feet racing down the hallway to discover what surprises wait in their baskets. This year, I kept things simple and sweet. Each basket was filled with intentional treasures: colorful chalk, flower clips, art supplies, and a few faith-based goodies that remind us of the heart behind the celebration. Creating Easter baskets is one of my favorite traditions — a little sprinkle of magic to start the day.

Faith, Family, and a Cozy Brunch

After the excitement of baskets, we dressed in our spring best and headed to church. Gathering together to worship and reflect on the message of hope and renewal that Easter brings was, as always, the most meaningful part of the day. In the weeks leading up to Easter, we spent time talking about Jesus, the cross, and what new life means — tender, simple conversations that root this season in something deeper.

Back home, we enjoyed a slow, cozy brunch. On the menu: carrot muffins, fresh fruit, and sugar cookies the kids had decorated the day before. Our table was a soft blend of florals, gingham napkins, and sweet touches from our favorite Walmart Easter decor — pieces I’m already planning to reuse next year.

An Afternoon Egg Hunt Full of Giggles

The backyard egg hunt might just be my favorite part. We filled plastic eggs with small treasures and hid a few golden eggs for extra fun. The older kids got in on the excitement, helping hide eggs for their younger siblings. Watching them run barefoot through the grass, sunshine on their cheeks and laughter in the air — it was pure springtime magic.

This sweet Easter recap isn’t about picture-perfect setups or elaborate plans. It’s about being present — soaking in the beauty of family life, in all its messy, lovely imperfection. Whether we’re gathered around the brunch table or chasing eggs in the backyard, it’s these little moments that create the memories we hold close.
