Falling in Love with Carmel by the Sea. There are places in the world that seem to carry a kind of magic—whispers of stories that linger in the air and wrap around your heart. Carmel by the Sea is one of those places, where time feels slower, the colors seem softer, and the moments you share become unforgettable. We recently had the sweetest opportunity to spend a few days in this dreamy town for my cousin’s wedding, and it’s safe to say, we fell head over heels.

The house we stayed in felt like a little slice of heaven, with its charming architecture and windows that let the light pour in, illuminating every room with a cozy glow. We’d wake up to the crisp sea breeze in the mornings, and every corner of this place seemed to beckon us to slow down and soak in the beauty that surrounded us. It wasn’t just a house; it felt like a story unfolding, one filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments.

The wedding itself was a beautiful reflection of love and intention. It wasn’t just the vows or the ceremony; it was the way each little detail had been thoughtfully planned. The florals bloomed like poetry, soft hues that echoed the colors of the sea. The tables were adorned with handwritten notes, delicate touches that reminded everyone that they were more than just guests—they were a part of the love story being written. It was a celebration that didn’t rush by; instead, it lingered, inviting us all to truly be present.

The evening carried a kind of magic that made you feel like time was stretching, letting every hug and every joyful tear last a little longer. We danced under the twinkling lights and raised our glasses to love, to family, and to moments that feel like they’ve been pulled from the pages of a novel. Shop our matching fits here.

One of our favorite experiences during our time in Carmel was spending an afternoon at The Hay. It’s a short course where you can play a little golf, and while we might not be the most serious golfers, the joy of being outside, laughing together, and sharing a bit of friendly competition was simply perfect. The atmosphere was light and fun, with each swing of the club carrying its own memory—a memory of family, togetherness, and the kind of playful spirit that fills you up.

There was something about being there, on that rolling green, surrounded by nature’s beauty, that reminded me how important it is to find time for these simple joys. It’s these small moments—these unscripted pieces of life—that linger long after a trip has ended.

Don’t miss the iconic Lone Cypress, perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop along 17-Mile Drive—it’s one of Carmel’s most famous landmarks and a symbol of the enduring beauty of the California coast.
  6. Enjoy a Scenic Drive along 17-Mile Drive
This famous drive takes you through some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in California, with viewpoints that make you want to stop and take it all in. The Lone Cypress and the views at Pebble Beach are not to be missed.

This less crowded beach offers a tranquil spot for watching the sunset. It’s a serene end to the day, with colors that paint the sky and sea in hues of gold and pink.
  9. Experience The Hay
If you haven’t had the chance to visit The Hay, I’d absolutely recommend it. Whether you’re an avid golfer or just looking for a bit of fun, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the experience feels like an adventure.

Carmel’s art scene is alive with creativity, and the galleries here showcase stunning pieces from both local and international artists. It’s the kind of place where inspiration is around every corner.
