Hosting a 4th of July party means having the freedom to go with various styles. Whether you prefer a classic BBQ with family and friends or a more casual gathering where everyone brings a dish, it’s all about celebrating together.
If you’re planning a traditional BBQ, get those grills fired up! Delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, and grilled veggies are always a hit. Consider adding a patriotic touch by using star-shaped cookie cutters to make burger patties or adding red and blue foods like mixed berries or decorated cookies.
For a relaxed gathering, a potluck party is a great choice. Invite your guests to bring their favorite summertime dishes. Encourage them to get creative with red, white, and blue-themed foods — or any family favorites!
Keep the excitement going with fun activities for everyone. Set up a DIY photo booth with props like flags, and sunglasses. Organize a relay race or a water balloon toss. And of course, don’t forget the sparklers!
Set a festive table by using red, white, and blue tablecloths, napkins, and plates. Arrange summer flowers as centerpieces. Add a touch of whimsy with mini American flags and sprinkle star-shaped confetti around the table.
Hang red, white, and blue streamers or paper lanterns along the porch. Add a DIY wreath with ribbons and small flags on the front door. Make a banner for near the food table — get creative and have fun!
Since our pool is currently being built, we’re grateful to have my parents’ house nearby with a pool where we can cool off. If you have access to a pool, make sure to enjoy it on the 4th! Set up colorful beach balls and pool noodles for the kiddos to enjoy. Provide plenty of sunscreen and poolside snacks to keep everyone happy and refreshed.
Above all, cherish the time spent with loved ones. Capture the joy on camera and put together a photo album to reminisce about these special times for years to come.
