With back to school season in full swing, I am always thinking up fun after school snacks and lunch ideas! I love for my kiddos to have something yummy waiting for them when they get home after a long day of learning.

These fun toast ideas would be perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. They are super cute, but also filling and have protein and fruit for good measure!

You can load these up with different fruits to make after school snacks for kids healthy! We checked YouTube for after school snacks videos to get inspiration for some favorites to make this year!

I also love fun festive treats that are good for snacking or also a sweet treat after they finish their snack, the perfect after school snacks aesthetic. These are so perfect for fall and for spooky season you could easily make these into pumpkins instead of apples, and would also look adorable on a snack tray! I love these for after school snacks easy and after school snacks for teens quick!

To make your own you’ll need

Red candy melts
Mini twist pretzels
Pretzel sticks
M&M candies (pick out the green, brown, & red)
Cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
These would be adorable on a forest path plate!

Instructions

In a bowl, microwave half a bag of candy melts according to the instructions. (Tip: make sure you have everything set up prior to microwaving candy melts! The candy melt gets thicker the longer it sets, so it’s best to start dipping the pretzels as soon as the candy melt comes out of the microwave!) Dip pretzels in candy melt then lay on parchment paper. Don’t worry, they will look messy at first!

For the first “apple” start adding red M&Ms all over the pretzel. Break a small part of a pretzel stick for the stem. Add a green M&M for the leaf.
For the next “apple”, simply break a small part of a pretzel stick and stick to the apple to make the stem. Then add a green M&M next to it to make a leaf.

For the last “apple”, add a leftover candy melt to the middle of the pretzel. Repeat steps for the stem and leaf.

If you want to mix it up or you don’t have pretzel sticks, simply use a brown M&M for the stem! These work great as after school snacks for kids make ahead and after school snacks for kids on the go.

I’m all about serving these up on fun plates like these  set of white plates with dinosaurs or this bunny wood plate.

Place on a cute plate or tray for a fun after school treat!🍎

Wishing you all a great back to school season! I hope that this year is wonderful for your kiddos!
