Recently our family went on a road trip to family camp! We really like to plan ahead when packing for road trips, and we have an entire system that works for our family. I shared about our road trip essentials and packing strategy in my IG stories. I received lots of questions, so I thought I would share more of the details here!
1. Pack everything in clear bins! Talk about a complete game changer for us. These are road trip essentials for adults and kids alike! Each kiddo gets a bin for their clothes, then we pack by need/ or room. i.e. snacks and food in one bin, activities in another, etc. I like to make a list before packing our bins so that we don’t miss anything!
2. Use packing cubes and vertical hanging storage. This makes unpacking and settling into our new space a breeze. I love the vertical hanging shelves because we can just move them right into a closet space. Another space saver are these Backseat Car Organizers.
3. Car desks for each kiddo. Each child having a desk for the car makes a world of difference I think these are road trip essentials for toddlers. Art projects, reading, snack time, activities are all so much easier with a lap desk like this Kids Travel Activity Tray.
4. Car activities and snacks! We make sure to pack plenty to occupy the kiddos, to make car rides fun and to keep them busy like this Travel Bingo! I stock up on books and games that are age appropriate for road trip essentials for all ages! Some of our favorites include iSpy Travel Card Game we also love this Electronic Drawing Board and Hidden Pictures Sticker Fun Books!
I really think that being prepared makes our road trips simpler and more enjoyable for all! Taking a few steps ahead of time to plan ahead, is well worth it! Click over to find my full Road Trip & Camp List by CaseyLeigh here!
