Our complete kitchen remodel is finished and we are thrilled to be able to settle into this space! I’ve been looking forward to sharing all of the details here, as this community has been such an encouragement each step of the way!
When I think about the kitchen of my dreams I want it to be a place where others feel instantly welcome and at home… An inviting space, that is organized and functional, full of light, and a room that our family can’t help but gather in. When I walk into our kitchen, I truly feel this way. I am grateful to see all of the planning, dreaming, hard work, and patience come to fruition!
Organization for inside of our pantry was a must, and these are a few essentials that I picked up to make the space next-level set of white baskets, wood foil dispenser, wood plastic bag dispenser, wood stacking bins, wood glass jars , fruit crates!
When planning our kitchen, we had top priorities that needed to be met, so we created a must-have list. Since we’ve lived in several homes now, we took all of our favorite aspects of our former kitchens, and built on them. I took a lot of time browsing inspiration, and feel like we left no stone unturned!
This space was truly a start from scratch situation. The original kitchen of this home is now where we have the kid’s art and homeschool space. We made the decision to move the kitchen to this part of the house so that it could be an open great room area right into our living room. We love this for gathering as a family! Some accessories that I am loving in our space are this brass pepper mill, bamboo cutting boards, this set of white and wood bowls and this utensil holder.
I crave clean and serene spaces, and our kitchen is no exception. We went with lots of white on white, from cabinets to counters, stools, kitchen chairs and some accessories. I love the timeless feel that white brings into the space. Windows were the top of the list for our complete kitchen remodel checklist. These dish towels are perfect for by our sink.
We chose large pendant lights, a long chandelier for over the kitchen table, sconces, cabinetry hardware, our pot filler over the range, our sink faucets and more to all be in a muted brass tone. I think that keeping the metal accents cohesive really tie the space together. On our counters we have this flour container and bowl set.
These Serena & Lily stools at our bar, the whitewash of our kitchen table, florals, baskets, light blue accents — they all lend themselves to a French vibe, and I enjoy carrying them throughout the home. At the kitchen table and island we have woven chargers and gingham placemats.
Adding windows into this space, large doors, windows into the pantry area have made such a major difference. The more natural light the better, and adding these windows I think was one of our best design decisions. I love all of the light in the morning when I grab my morning mug from the wood mug tree which matches well with these wood utensils, wood serving bowl and wood serving tray.
We have so much storage in this kitchen we have lots of room to grow. I love the walk in china cabinet, the special metal brass cabinet fronts for heirloom pieces and all of the extra cabinetry throughout. Everything has a home, and it brings me joy and peace when I am cooking or baking in this space. This was all taken into consideration for our complete kitchen remodel layout. These are a few items that I’ve added to our cabinets and drawers; rice dispenser, wood drawer organizer, and woven baskets set of 6 .
When planning to cook and entertain in our kitchen I found these items to be essential blue & white plate set, cast iron dutch oven, wood & silicone cooking utensils, and this knife set!
Many of these ideas can be used as inspiration for a complete kitchen remodel on a budget! These would be perfect in any space to keep organized labels set, fruit basket, bamboo counter shelf, lazy susan set .
The best choices that I made for this space came with really taking time to gather inspiration and to be clear on our must-have list. I am grateful each and every morning when I wake up, and head into this space to start my day!
XO,
Casey Wiegand
