As a mom and artist it’s really important to me that my kids are able to express themselves creatively. We have an art room, that I keep stocked up with lots of supplies for them to make art with. I also like the idea of having an easy on the go art cart. These can be kept the art room, or add one of these into each of their bedrooms next to their desks. Here are some fun art cart ideas to try!
Any way that I can encourage creativity, and let their imaginations run wild, I am all in for. I saw this cute idea for art carts and I knew that we need to create some of our own. I also think that this would be a really great idea for in the classroom, so teachers take note!
Preferably on wheels so that it’s easy to move with them around the house. A fun color could be cute, but you can also go with a neutral that will blend in nicely with any space.
Various styles of paints, colored pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, tape, glue — whatever medium your child gravitates towards most. Keep these well stocked.
Have a good amount of paper, sketchbooks, water color paper, coloring books etc on hand. Making it easy to grab and to start creating their own art!
I also like having typical homework or note writing supplies in our cart like pens, pencils, erasers, glue etc. this can make doing a project a breeze.
Caddies, cups, containers, bowls etc to store all of your supplies and to keep them organized.
I like to include magnets, tape, pins etc. that would make displaying their artwork a breeze! There’s nothing better than a home filled with art — especially art created by our children!
My girls have really been enjoying the ease of grabbing from this cart or pulling it up next to them when they are working on a project. This will be something that I try to keep stocked up, and to replenish things as needed so they always have on hand what they need most!
Let me know if you create an art cart, and how your kiddos use it most! I find my children getting so much use out of this simple project.
XO,
Casey Wiegand
