It’s officially time for a fun festive hot chocolate bar! Who doesn’t love a mug of something cozy!? I know that I do, and my kiddos get so excited to decorate the tops of their own hot chocolate with marshmallows and candies. Perfect for a movie night or stroll to see Christmas lights!
Sometimes the simplest traditions can take us right back to childhood, and a mug of cozy cocoa definitely brings up nostalgic feelings of Christmases long ago!
This hot chocolate bar for Christmas idea is a super cute way to be sure that you have cocoa on demand all season long! There’s something so playful and whimsical about a hot chocolate bar!
You could put this out for a fun family day, or it would even be a great addition to a more fancy holiday party for a hot chocolate bar party, or a winter hot chocolate bar for wedding, or hot chocolate bar baby shower ideas!
Last year we used jars to store all of these ingredients and kept them on display all season long, to make grabbing cocoa simple and fun, the perfect hot chocolate bar for kids!
You could go with something festive, or just your favorite holiday color scheme. Be sure there’s enough room for all of your favorite toppings! Another fun idea is to add a hot cocoa bar sign or this Artful Home hot cocoa bar free printable next to the platter.
Whether you melt chocolate chips, or use a powder mix, be sure to include it on your cocoa board!
Mini marshmallows, traditional size, maybe even marshmallows with a shape like snowmen or snowflakes, I’ve seen really sweet ones at the store! Hot chocolate bar toppings and decor will take this to the next level!
Peppermints, crushed candy canes, mini candy canes, holiday m&ms, extra chocolate or chocolate chips, even white chocolate could be fun!
Have everything that you might need on hand close by for easy assembly and enjoyment!
This is your chance to use your mugs for the holidays! Snowmen, Santa, Mrs. Claus, reindeer, all of your most festive cups can be on full display!
Sometimes we will grab our hot cocoa and head out to the bonfire, walk over to a neighbors house, or one of my absolute favorite tradition, take them on a drive with us to see Christmas lights throughout our town. You can pick up to go cubs with sturdy lids at your grocery store or order them online. For these I like to make sure that the cocoa is not too hot, and okay for the kids to handle, I also double check their lids to be sure they are on nice and tight! Be careful with cocoa on the go 😉
Do you have any special memories gathered round with hot cocoa? Something about it instantly takes me back to childhood and all of the magic of this season!
XO,
Casey Wiegand
