Holidays have my heart, and making each celebration feel special is something that I cherish. We’ve been in transition as a family this year, with moving and now renovating our new home. Some of our celebrations have looked a bit different while we are settling in, but that hasn’t stopped us from soaking up the special moments together and making beautiful memories!
The autumn season, and Halloween are one of my favorite times of year. I love to see my kiddos eyes light up from all of the festive fun that this holiday holds. I have so many memories as a kid of my parents making Halloween so much fun for us, and it brings me so much joy to see my kids getting to experience our family traditions.
I put a few pictures from my parents’ home here, as I really think that I get so much of my love for special celebrations from my mom. She has always gone to such great lengths to make us, and now our children, feel loved and her warmth is such a gift. It’s fun to now see my children enjoying these traditions in my childhood home.
When it came to decorating for the season this year, it happened a little later than normal! We are living in a construction zone, after all 😉 but we’ve really learned to embrace it, to roll with the uncertainty and to take each detour on, knowing that it will all be worth it! This will certainly be a season that our family will always remember.
We learn such a great deal from our children, they are so resilient and I honestly think they take this all on as a fun adventure. I am so grateful for their sweet souls!
As I was planning some decor that we could add this year, we went simple with the outside, we are using cute Halloween decorations outdoor for our front porch area, which will be fun for the trick-or-treaters — our first time in our new neighborhood! The kids are super excited!
Looking at some of my past photos and pulling out the decorations that we already have helped me to come up with cute halloween decor ideas! I also added a bit to it. I like to add a few new things each year to grow our holiday decor collection. From cute halloween decorations indoor, to cute halloween decorations bedroom, and plenty of cute halloween decorations diy/ cute halloween decor diy we sprinkled in a bunch of our favorite things!
When in doubt, add pumpkins and garlands! Our kitchen table, the kiddos art room, our entryway, dining room, the mantel in my office and little touches in each kiddos rooms have all been sprinkled with some spooky cute halloween decor goodness! We mixed real pumpkins and faux, cute decor like witches hats, fall colored pom poms and jack-o-lantern plates and napkins. Just enough to make it feel festive in here!
I never take these moments for granted, and look forward to this time of year all year long! What are some of your favorite Halloween traditions?
