DIY Valentines Sensory Bin For Kids

DIY Valentines Sensory Bin For Kids

Sensory play is something that I love to incorporate with my kiddos, especially from a young age! Sensory play is great for supporting language development, fine motor skills, and cognitive development.

Most of all, it’s hands on, screen free play that is really calming for kids! This is a fun Valentine’s theme DIY that your kids are sure to love!

What you’ll need:
+ Rice
+ Ziplock Bags
+ Paint
(you can add stickers, glitter, plastic hearts, any adornments you’d like! be sure to supervise small children if you use any small plastic pieces in your sensory play.)

How to color the rice:
+ Put rice in a ziplock bag.
+ Add 2 tablespoons of pink paint (or whatever color of paint you like).
+ Shake up.
+ Let sit for a few hours or spread out on a plate to dry faster.

Here’s the step by step:

+ Once the rice has dried, add to a container.
+ Add a bowl, some plastic hearts, measuring cup or even a small shovel. Add marbles, candy hearts, buttons, or whatever you know your little one will love (and depending on his or her age).
+ To make it super sweet, put stickers on the container and decorate around it. Your little one will feel so special and have so much fun!

Sensory bins are an incredible activity for kids!
