We just left the service for my Grandad, to honor his life. 99 years- truly amazing.
“Kenneth contributed greatly to medical research. In 1963 he reported a new surgical technique for reconstruction of the(ACL), which is today known as the “Jones Procedure.” Athletes from around the world pour out gratitude for the ways that surgery impacts their lives. He pioneered in many many ways beyond this.
I sat there and was overwhelmed again with the beauty of life. The true honor it is to be here living and breathing and how I hope so much to use each day to its fullest. I looked at each of our kiddos and had to fight the waive of fear that can sometimes creep in when we are reminded how fragile our days are. I find myself wrestling and begging God to give me the time here to love them and help them and walk beside them. How Id take any of their heartaches for them in a moment, Please Lord let them fall on me.
I can truly say the greatest accomplishment, the greatest dream come true and the greatest joy of my life is that of being a mom. Never a moment will that beautiful honor and responsibility be lost on me. Even at ages 9, 7, 5 and 1 the people our children are – they are my greatest pride and greatest inspiration.
Thankful for the lives that have gone before me to lead the way. Grandad, we love you.
