I had no idea it was National Rainbow baby day this weekend but how perfect that it was my First Rainbow, my Apple Lucy’s 8th birthday.
Apple was a picture of hope for many (y’all this was old blogging days before insta was really a thing). I trembled in appointments and shared very raw thoughts and fears as we walked that first pregnancy after a loss. (Wound up having 4 D &Cs total before we did genetic testing, found out I had MTHFR and led me to answers).
I still get DMs with precious beautiful sweet baby pics from sooooo many of you have heard our story and sought out answers. Apple. This tender kind precious angel who was waiting for me on the other side of all that pain. Apple was described by a teacher this past year as gentle and compassionate- “she leads by example to show others what it looks like to have a calm presence, a kind heart and sweet joy”. That’s our baby cakes.
When something is the Apple of your eye you watch over it and cherish it and oh Apple Lucy you are CHERISHED. This weekend for her birthday we each went around the table and spoke life over Apple. Her siblings adore her and you can see how who she is impacts each of us in such beautiful ways.
I have such a heart for celebrating my people. I love nothing more than to make my loved ones feel special and seen!
Celebrating is my sweet spot, I adore the planning process and the small details. Most of all, I relish in the day that everything comes together! For Apple’s birthday, we had these super special light up letters, a beautiful balloon garland with pink and gold and cream and an adorable unicorn cake! I love how whimsical and playful this party felt! Most of all, I cherished the smile on my girl’s face, the wonder in her eyes, and the contentment in her spirit. I am deeply grateful that I get to be her mama.
