Wendy’s. The trip.
I have been meaning to do a follow up tothis post! I wanted to share a bit about the trip in general and my experience as a whole. If you have followed me for any length of time you know I am a bit of an introvert, I don’t exactly like to be away from my family and can count on one hand the times that I have traveled alone. I had nerves in my throat for a few days about the whole thing. Plus for all I knew I was going to be a big nerd on camera, completely shut down and no words come out for 24 hours.
I stepped off of the plane and expected to see one camera guy…. you can see by the pictures that a whole crew was waiting for me. And you can probably tell by the beginning ofthis videothat I was sooooo nervous.
Well, everything was fine in a matter of minutes. The film guys were so incredibly kind, the Wendy’s team made me feel so at home and welcomed…everyone just put my nerves to ease in a matter of moments!
That night I got to meet the other bloggers and everyone was just absolutely amazing. I don’t know much about food (I am in a full-on attempt to learn more as of late) so they were so great with me and taught me so much. It was nice to take four completely different girls who have a common thread (blogging) and instantly have so much to talk about.
The second day we went to the Wendy’s headquarters and I was blown away. The entire feel was modern and chic. The Wendy’s team was so kind and even gave us a tour of their taste kitchen and showed us where they conduct all of their taste testing. We heard from a variety of different people and all of our questions were answered.
I would work with Wendy’s again in a heartbeat. It means a lot to me how someone treats another…. I know that has nothing to do with food and food was the point of me being there but as someone who has worked with a variety of companies and sees everything across the spectrum, I can honestly say they were wonderful and it was truly a pleasure being involved in this project!
Full Disclosure: This post and the travel mentioned herein was sponsored by Wendy’s, though all opinions expressed are my own.
Casey! Thank you for sharing more of the details…I was just so excited to live vicariously through you and Bridget. 🙂 And being on camera?! I agree. Total introvert over here and I have a hard time coming up with things to say on the spot. You did SO great though!
You are just thee cutest! I'm a fairly new follower (and fellow north Texas resident!) and loved seeing you on camera! Every time I pass a Wendy's I think of you and that sandwich…..as someone who rarely eats fast food (I normally turn my nose up to anything but Chickfila!) I'm dying to try one of these!! http://www.jasonmeandbabyt.com
hope you had fun in Columbus! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that city 🙂 I used to live there during my internships in college… I hope you got to try some jeni's ice cream, the Dublin location was right up the street!
Glad your experience was a good one! I have been so tempted to try one of those sandwiches ever since I watched the video awhile ago, I may have to remedy that this weekend:)
Sounds like an amazing trip! I love it when a company I work with is just so kind and easy to be with 🙂 And trust me, you do NOT look like you're nervous or a dork at all! You're a natural!
I LOVE that you went and shared this with us! I still have yet to try this sandwhich but its on my list! And yes, how you treat others is HUGE!!! Its good to know that Wendy's cares.
Hi Friend 🙂 I'm happy you shared more about your trip, I was so curious to hear what you were up to. I'm a fan of Wendy's, so I'm glad to know they are a good group of people. I'll have to be sure to try the new flatbread sandwich soon. Have a great week xo
Thanks so much for sharing! We went to Wendy's tonight and I tried the Asiago Ranch sandwich and it was amazing for fast food. I enjoyed watching the video. Thanks again for sharing.
Sounds like it was such a great experience, I`m glad they were so nice that it eased your nerves. It does sound a bit overwhelming, I for sure would have been nervous too!
Dear Casey, How cool! Wendy's has always been my favorite fast-food place because (at least in NE) they are the only ones readily available who put REAL veggies on their typical hamburgers. 🙂 I'm sure regardless of your nervous jitters they were happy to add your beautiful spirit and self to their project.
i found a coupon in my local newspaper for it so i bought one and it was super tasty! i haven't had fast food in years and i literally on tried it because of the video!! fab marketing scheme! kudos to wendy's!! and great job on the video too you were adorable!! congrats on the awesome opportunity!!
