thanksgiving day
We spent the day today at my parents house and had such a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I would love to say that this is the one day of the year that my heart is full and bursting with gratitude but the truth is that not a day goes by that I don’t have to catch my breath. Life has me daily giving thanks.
Through beauty. heartache. happiness- always giving thanks. It’s important.
I was talking to a friend recently and she mentioned that I only have 14 years left with Aiden in our home. 14 years. That may seem like a long time but in the grand scheme of life that is so small. And the amount of years I am able to carry, snuggle and hold them are even shorter.
I am thankful for this season. As busy as it is and with the sleepless nights and fast paced days- I am thankful. I am counting my blessings day by day, hour by hour.
Have you heard of eucharisteo? – life-filling gratitude .
Most days , these days, I don’t have time to read books. But occasionally before I close my eyes for the night I will skim a page or two in a favorite book of mine. Just to let words and inspiration seep into my soul as my last thoughts for the night. I was looking back through One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp and instantly remembered how much I love her writing and her message. Giving thanks always. through everything.
Happy thanksgiving! Anytime i start to think about how many years my boys have left with us, it makes me try and cherish every moment even more. Keep up the good work mama!
You and your family are such beautiful people, inside and out, Casey. I love the picture of your family eating Thanksgiving DInner at your parents. So, so sweet.
Catching up on blogs today and found it amazing that you blogged about eucharisteo and the wonderful book, one thousand gifts. i wrote a thanksgiving post mentioning both of those as well. being thankful for everything because He is good! something to keep close to our hearts every.single.day.
Beautiful pics and thoughts! My Eli is almost 8 and I can't believe how fast the time goes… I notice it more with him than our little Emma, but she's growing up too fast, too… Wish I could hold on to these moments forever and never forget. So glad you had a blessed Thanksgiving, friend! 🙂
I love that word "eucharisteo", it just sounds so exotic & fun! But the meaning behind it is what I love most! Thanks for this wonderful post, I love reading your blog! God truly does bless us daily! Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics of your family!
