a coffee date.
Well nothing specific on my heart today. I thought it might be fun to have a coffee date… I don’t drink coffee BUT have been craving coffee ice cream like crazy the past 2 weeks…so how about a bowl of that?
If you came over for a bowl of yummy coffee ice cream… my kiddos would greet you at the window- jumping up and down with delight. Aiden’s nose pressed to the window, ainsleigh squealing with delight. They love people. I am so thankful for this.
I love watching their sweet smiles and precious hugs bless other people.
I would invite you in…scoop you a bowl of extra cold coffee ice cream…it’s the kind with heath.bar crunch bits in it.
I would curl up on the floor, blanket around my toes …there would be toys and pieces of dinosaur puzzles sprinkled all around us.
I would tell you that on Sunday both of the kids crashed after Aiden’s birthday party, so Chris and I put a huge jumble of pillows and blankets on our couch, made a bowl of popcorn and had a movie date…just like when we were dating 7 years ago. I so much need those times with him. It totally fills up my love tank. I would tell you how when I was dating him and married him, I loved him…but now years later- I love him more than ever before. Goodness, we have both changed so much…honestly all for the better….and I am just so blessed by him. Truly happy.
I would tell you that I have been working hard on the Dallas conference. And that fear is trying to hold me back. I know that if we don’t sell X amount of tickets Chris and I will lose money…and that makes me nervous. Chris says it doesn’t matter. His perspective on life is so endearing. Everyday with Chris and I being freelance we have to trust…so yet again, I am trusting that God will provide for us.
Oh and I’d probably spill a little secret that November 3&4 was looking really good for the event.
I would tell you that there is a part inthis video that makes me weep every time. It is when Aiden is walking up to the counter with his tickets. For some reason it makes me cry so hard. It’s like I want to give him everything. I want to make money so that I can buy him his first house and make all his dreams come true. I want this for all my kiddos and their future families. Alot of people want to make money for themselves…for their own security and their own life- I want to make it for them. All for them.
If we had ice cream I would tell you that a week from today I will know if our little baby is a boy or a girl…and praying for that little pumpkin by name will overflow my heart with joy. I already in my heart think that I know what it is…. I will let you know if I was right or not :).
And I would probably tell you that no one single event in my life (until now) can instantly bring me to tears like when I think of that child in heaven waiting for me. When I imagine him standing by the gate, with a huge grin… wavy golden hair and big blue eyes. For some reason when I think of him he is always around the age of 17- tall like Chris but a face like Aiden’s. I see him and instantly know who he is…and then I run to him- full speed. Instant tears. Every time.
I would ask you about your life, your struggles, your dreams.
I would ask if anything is holding you back?
Thanks for the ice cream date :). I would love it again soon. xoxo
You are making me teary eyed! Loved reading this. And the part about movie night was so sweet! I can't imagine how different my husband and I's life would be with children, we can't wait for that day!
Goodness Casey this is beautiful! Here I am sitting at my computer, tears streaming down my face thinking of all the growing up that comes with sweet little ones. Thank you for making me think! So excited to hear what you are having! Good luck!
Love this post! You are so heartfelt. I loved reading about your movie date, that's so sweet. I can't imagine how different a life with children is. My husband and I can't wait for that day!
Ahh!… [happy sigh] Thanks for the visit, i love hearing your thoughts and heart. – I would share that I can't wait to meet our baby and am even more excited for little man to be a big brother. I too know the heartache of losing a child, and thank God for this precious gift, life. xoxo, Amy
Love when your share bits and pieces of your life like this.
I understand wanting to give your kids everything. I, too, want to do the same… even though I know he doesn't NEED everything he wants…like 5 oreos cookies, but sometimes I still let him because its hard to resist.
Your words inspire everyone. The believers and the non believers. The moms and the not moms. You're words are always so kind and heartfelt and I was definitely tearing up and smiling at the same time. Love, your silent reader
I don't think that any blog captures my attention or heart like yours, Casey. You have a beautiful family. I often look to you when my heart is down. You have a beautiful way of living.
coffee ice cream, yes please! i love that you have this vision of meeting your little one in heaven one day. since we lost ours at only 6 weeks, its hard to imagine. do i miss a girl or a boy that i never met? either way, i bet they had dark hair and baby blue eyes just like their daddy.
We share a common "cry in an instant" life experience. Only my Elias is a bit younger in my dream of our reunion. I just can't wait for that day… I'm a new follower, are these coffee dates or on your heart link ups weekly? SO cool
what cute pictures. your kids are adorable~ wish I could have a coffee ice cream date and go to a park with your cuties! they are just precious! I love how you love your babies! tara
Casey, Thank you for always sharing such sweet and honest thoughts. I appreciate reading your blog every day! I always feel so blessed by your words ๐
The second to the last shot of her is amazing! She looks like a little lady. I too think of my little one. I was able to see and hold her however I barley remember. Whenever I do think of her though I think of a little 2-3 year old girl with very thick dirty blonde hair, big light brown eyes and chubby cute cheeks :). But that is just me. I look forward to hearing what the baby is.
Hey, beautiful momma…fellow new momma here ๐ Would love your prayers and wisdom on how to be a wife and a new mom at the same time. I know God made me to be both but definitely feeling overwhelmed (and our little lady, Miss Ruth, isn't a huge fan of sleeping…oh my). love your blog-thank you for being faithful to the most amazing God.
xoxo, Anna Norman (mother of a promised little girl named Ruth)
That was a good coffee icecream date. You are so sweet on everything, motherhood, wife, sister in Christ, all of it. Your kids will look back on this blog and smile =) I hope my kids read mine someday.
I think this is the sweetest coffee date I've ever been on…except for the little ones with my Kaden ๐ Love seeing your precious little family and can't wait to hear more about the new little one next week ๐ littlemomentsinlife.com
I just recently started reading your blog. You are such a beautiful woman with a beautiful family and a beautiful heart. I get inspired when I read you posts. I have an 11 month old daughter and I love to capture my thoughts and pictures through my blog. What would we do without it?
i don't know what it is about this post, but it made me cry like crazy. i, too, love that part in the video where aiden has the tickets. i agree, there's just something magical about it. the conference will be amazing because you are doing this with chris and God on your side… with that, nothing can make you fail! love ya girl!
Your kiddos are so sweet! Can't wait to find out what the baby in your belly is ๐ I say girl. Don't be nervous about your conference. It will be spectacular!! I'll be praying that it goes beautifully :o) http://www.spoonfulofsunshine-jgm.blogspot.com

So happy that you share your heart with us all, I just love to read what you say and feel. I almost cried when you talked about meeting your in heaven child. The joy will be overwhelming.
I absolutely love this! It's so endearing and a wonderful picture of a mother's heart. I too picture meeting my lost little one in heaven and knowing him or her instantly. Giving her a hug and being together for eternity. I just love this picture.
I know what you mean when you say you want to make money for your children. My current pregnancy is what drives me. I want my son to be proud of his mommy. To know that everything I do is for him and our family and that nothing would ever come before that. Thanks again for sharing your heart. I wish you well on your conference. : )
Casey you have such a sweet way with words. I'm so happy to have found your blog. The way you describe how your littles love people; so well put! My girls are the same way! It is such a joy for me to watch them love so freely and so completely. Thanks for the coffee date, friend! Happy Day! Michelle http://www.daydreambelieves.net

This brought tears to my eyes. I love your heart for you kiddos. I pray to have such a heart myself when the Lord blesses my little family with babies. You are beautiful!
Ah. I love this post. I too want to have enough money to make our daughter's life a good one. I don't want her to have to worry about things like college tuition or medical bills. I want to have enough to support her so that she can focus of dreams/goals/bigger things.
That video- it's magical. I just love when Aiden is eating his birthday doughnut and I love when he blows his candles out one by one (near the end). He's absolutely delightful. What a sweetie.
Casey, I really love what you said about your sweet baby in heaven. It made my heart thump like crazy. My daddy died when I was in college and I think of him in heaven, for some reason I picture him in his twenties, with his 70's wavy dark hair with hints of blonde, wearing a red plaid shirt because there's a photo of him like that and I've only seen it a few times…but for some reason it's how I see him in heaven taking a walk with Jesus, laughing, and maybe even reminiscing about me and my siblings knowing he'll see us soon. I Absolutely love the image you shared of your sweet darling baby in heaven. Thanks for the "coffee" date:)
Love this post… I would totally go for a bowl of coffee ice cream right now too! I also have babies in heaven and I can't even think about seeing them someday without falling apart… how awesome is it that we will all be together again?
one more thing. i recently heard it said that one reason Jesus sometimes takes our babies from us is that He knows we will follow Him so much more closely, since we know He holds that little one in His arms.
Ahhhh these are the best kinds of coffee dates – listening to friends about dreams, fears, hopes and heartbreaks. Thanks for sharing! All the best with the plans for the conference – sounds like it shall be awesome ๐ xoxo
So sweet. I would love to meet you and your family. Your kids are too cute. I think our husbands would get along great. They both love the Lord and are into the arts it seems (my hubby loves music and plays drums for our church's worship team, I sing and play piano). I would love to go to your conference if I lived closer!
Thank you Casey for sharing your heart in this awesome coffee date post, you always get me thinking about how precious life is. You are such an inspiration!
