what if, instead of reacting…we stopped and took a deep breath
what if, instead of losing our patience… we didn’t
what if, instead of leaving a nasty comment…. we decided to encourage 5 people that day
what if, instead of rolling our eyes or letting ourselves turn cold as ice, we made the first move…and initiated something good
what if, instead of using the past as ammunition, we forgot…moved on and forgave.
what if, instead of buying those new shoes, we bought the homeless man lunch
what if, instead of screening the call, we took it
or what if instead of being furious….we were kind.
the world would be better.
we would be better versions of ourselves.
what if, instead of seeing heartache as punishment….we saw it as a blessing.
You are so beatuiful.
always love your heart Casey.
i agree with all of this. working on all of these things…it's so damn hard. i wonder why it's so hard?
Amazing food for thought. Yes, what if…

Love this. Really great reminder, especially with starting afresh in a new year!:)
What a great and simple post. I teach at our wednesday night children's ministry at our church. There is a girl in my class that is a class clown and is getting into trouble the whole time. I feel like I have to get onto her constantly and it wears me out by the end of class. After class last night I was praying on my way home and I felt so awful. There is a reason why she acts like that. What is her home life like? Makes me think of this post. This girl needs love… not judgement or scorning.
Great post! Thanks so much Casey!

I love this post- especially buying the homeless person lunch. I used to be so judgmental and wonder how they got themselves into that situation. Now I know God didn't create me to judge them. He created me to love them.
what if…everyone thought like you do? Well, the world would be WAY, way more peaceful!
Wonderfully said ๐

This so got me.
Yesterday, Truitt threw a tantrum about something. I dont even remember now what it was. But it was a normal toddler tantrum. And i just snapped at him. And immediately felt bad afterwards. Sometimes I lose my patience with him wayyyy too quickly.
Its funny how different things could be if we would react differently in situations. Think before we actually do.
you have a beautiful heart and are so inspirational.
You have taught me to appreciate this time that I have with Truitt a little more.
thankyou!

beautiful and simple post. i needed so badly to hear this today. i was catching up on your blog and saw it and realized these were the words i have been needing to hear all week. after getting rear-ended, having bad whiplash, getting frustrated with my husband, feeling bad for myself, wanting to give up, and feeling like everything was just piling on top of another…. this post touched my heart completely! thank you for the reminder that i can be a better version of myself. and there are so many things to be grateful for. and that by truly loving others, i can learn to in turn love myself.
as always, such an inspiration!
