DIY Flower Basket
Mother’s Day is this weekend and I want to share an easy DIY that every mama is sure to love. Truthfully, I’d happily make this for myself too! Hi friends, I’m Brianna, and Casey asked me to share today! I’m a sometimes blogger, always mama, former photographer turned graphic designer living the coastal life in Southern California with my helicopter pilot hubby and 3 kids, you can find our adventures on my blog here and on ig @brivenzke
This DIY flower basket is so simple! The flowers ring in at less than $30 from a local grocery store, and you can use any basket you have – a low woven basket is perfect! Check Target, a thrift store, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, etc. I used 3 shallow dipping bowls to contain the water. (Mine are from Target!)
You can use scissors but I like pruning shears best. You’ll want to cut the ends at a 45 degree angle, a fresh cut is best! Remove any leaves that would sit in the water, this will keep the water fresh longer!
Choose a variety of flowers you love, I chose peony tulips, tulips, chamomile (to fill in space!), and pincushion protea’s for interest.
Don’t forget the flower food! If you have Purification essential oil, add a drop to each water container to help keep the flowers fresh longer!
Just keep filling in the spaces, and cutting the stems at varying lengths for visual interest!
